Blast rocks Turkish capital, report says many injured

A powerful explosion shook the Turkish capital Ankara today, with plumes of smoke seen rising over an area close to a residential compound for the military.

The Dogan news agency said the blast targeted a passing military vehicle and many were wounded. Ambulances and fire brigade have been despatched to the scene, it added.
