Blazing sun pushes mercury close to 40 deg C in Delhi

Delhiites today woke up to a mild weather but as the day progressed, the blazing sun pushed the mercury close to 40 degree Celsius, causing discomfort to people in the city.

In the morning, it was a mild weather with the minimum temperature settling three notches below normal at 25 degree Celsius, but later in the day, the mercury soared and settled at 39.9 degree Celsius, one notch below normal, according to the MeT department.

The humidity levels remained between 34 and 65 per cent during the day.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 37.8 degree Celsius, three degrees below normal while the minimum was recorded at 25.6 degree Celsius, two degrees below normal.
 

Weatherman has predicted similar conditions tomorrow.

"It is going to be a mainly clear sky and the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to remain around 41 and 25 degree Celsius respectively," said a MeT official.
