Seventy blind students from far-flung areas of Jungle Mahal and Sundarbans were today given an opportunity to have a free visit in an amusement park in Kolkata.
These students of Vivekananda Mission Ashram (VMA) in Haldia were taken to Nicco Park in Kolkata for a free ride in the theme park with the help of the park authorities and local administration.
Most of these children who were born in poor families enjoyed the rides in the park with their friends, teachers of VMA said.

As part of their educational trip to Belur Math, the students were taken to the amusement park as such parks are absent in the area where they belong to, teachers said.
The students heard about the trip from the teachers and read details about the theme park and Belur Math by studying through Braille.
"Guides were provided to the blind students for a better understanding of the facilities in the park. Many students visit the park round the year but this is the first time so many visually impaired students visited the park," Vice-Chairman of Nicco Park Rajesh Babu said.
