Blistering heat sweeps Haryana and Punjab

Blistering heat swept Haryana and Punjab today with Hisar recording a maximum of 45.2 degrees Celsius in the region.

The day temperature at Hisar in Haryana settled at 45.2 degrees Celsius, three notches above normal, the Met Department report said here.

Among other places in the state, Karnal, Bhiwani and Ambala braved hot weather at 42.4 degrees C, 42.8 degrees C, 42.4 degrees C respectively as hot weather conditions prevailed across Haryana.

Chandigarh residents also experienced a hot day at 41.4 degree Celsius, up two notches than normal.

In Punjab, Amritsar sizzled at 43.8 degree Celsius, up three notches, making it the hottest place in the State.
 

Industrial town Ludhiana also had a hot day at 43 degree Celsius while Patiala, too, recorded above normal maximum temperature at 42.6 degree Celsius.
