Blistering heat wave affects normal life in Rajasthan

The blistering heat wave sweeping Rajasthan affected normal life as Phalodi was today the hottest place with maximum temperature of 45.5 degree Celsius, a MeT official said.

Mercury has risen at all places by one to three degree Celsius in north west of Rajasthan with dry weather conditions, he said.

Western sandy desert region covering Barmer, Jaisalmer, Jodhopur, Bikaner, and Churu was sizzling between 42 and 45 degree C, about six degrees above normal. Heat wave conditions have cause dusty winds in the western region causing poor visibility during the day.

Barmer recorded a minimum of 44.9 degree C followed by Jaisalmer 43.7, Jodhpur 43.5, Churu 42.8, Bikaner 42.5, Kota 42.4, Kota 42.1, Ajmer 41.5, and Jaipur 41.4 degree C.
 

Elsewhere the maximum temperature was above 40 degree C.

No let up in present severe heat wave conditions is predicted in next 24 hours, a forecast said.
