Block Agriculture Officer held for taking bribe

A Block Agriculture Officer of Sadar block was today caught red-handed by the vigilance sleuths while accepting bribe from a man in his chamber.

A vigilance team raided the chamber of Bindeshwari Mishra and caught him red-handed accepting Rs 2000 bribe from one Rampati Jhora for releasing an instalment of fund under Centre-sponsored Indira Awas Yojana, Magistrate Rajeev Ranjan, who accompanied the raiding team, said.

Jhora has complained to the vigilance department accusing Mishra of demanding bribe to clear the funds for three months.

Accordingly, the vigilance department team laid a trap and arrested Mishra, who was currently an acting in-charge of the Block office, he added.
