Block Education Officer held taking Rs 10,000 bribe

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau today arrested block education officer in Bihar's Aurangabad district on the charge of taking Rs 10,000 bribe for speedy withdrawal of salary of an employee.

Acting on a complaint of one Rajeev Kumar, a Vigilance Investigation Bureau team led by DSP Mohammad Jamiruddin laid a trap and caught Obara block education officer Uma Shankar Singh taking Rs 10,000 bribe, a Vigilance statement said.

The officer was caught red-handed taking money under a bridge on NH 2.

This was fourth trap case made by Vigilance police station in the month of November, the statement added.
