Block health officer dies in accident

The Block Medical Officer of Health (BMOH) of Bagmundi block was killed today in an accident at Balarampur in Purulia district.

The 40-year-old health officer - Lambodar Oraon - was killed when his car lost control and overturned after falling in a ditch at Namsole village, the police said.

He was declared brought dead at Purulia Sadar Hospital. He was travelling alone, the police said.

Oraon was returning to work from his home in Ranchi.

In a separate incident at Hura in the district, two unknown persons were killed when their motorcycle collided head-on with a speeding truck on a bridge.
