Boyband Blue star Antony Costa is set to swap music and theatre career for television.

The star has had guest roles in "Casualty" and "Holby City" before, but may be looking for a more permanent part in a soap going forward.

It comes after the news that bandmate Duncan James has joined the cast of "Hollyoaks," reported Digital Spy.

"I am so pleased for Duncan. It's another string to his bow. He phoned to tell me the news. It would be great to be in a soap because I am a soap fan," the 35-year-old singer said.

"After performing in front of thousands of people I would go back to the hotel room and watch the soaps."

Costa is currently starring in rock and roll musical "Save the Last Dance for Me" in Manchester.
