Unable to pass their state board examinations, three girls allegedly committed suicide in separate incidents in Uttarakhand and two were battling for life after consuming poison, police said here today.
Three students in Chamoli district consumed poison yesterday after they came to know that they had failed in their high school and intermediate board examinations.
One of them, an intermediate student of Nandprayag, died at a hospital while the two other class X students continue to be critical, police sources said.

Two more girls allegedly took the extreme step in Nainital district after they learnt that they had failed in their examinations, they said.
While one of them hanged herself at Nainital, the other consumed poison at Dhanchuli in the district.
The results were declared yesterday.
