The Board of Governors of NIT, Srinagar, would meet on October 4 to discuss various issues related to the institute including resumption of academic activity which has been affected because of the recent disturbance in the state.
"The matter of registration and resumption of classes for Autumn Session, 2016 will be discussed in the Board of Governors meeting scheduled on 04-10-2016. It is, therefore, notified for information of all students and other concerned to wait up to 04-10-2016 for outcome of the meeting and further notice in the matter," said a notice put up on the institute's website.
Official sources said that while the situation is improving in Srinagar, the Board will take decisions on issues related to resumption of academic activity.
It is learnt that some students have also sought that they be shifted to some other NITs but officials said that this demand has been made in the past as well but was not accepted.
