The Juvenile Justice Board today sent a 20-year-old man, booked in the Yug Chandak murder case, to probation of two years.
The man, who was 17-years old when the crime took place in 2014, was held guilty of kidnapping for ransom (S. 364 A of the IPC) and hatching conspiracy (S. 120 B of the IPC) by the Juvenile Justice Board, which heard the case, on July 20.
Board member Surekha Borkute told PTI that the child in conflict with law has been placed under the supervision of District Child Protection Officer (DCPO) Mushtaq Pathan.

It also said that the child in conflict with law shall not leave Nagpur jurisdiction without the permission of the Juvenile Justice Board.
Vikas Karhade, who represented the juvenile in conflict with law, told PTI that they welcome the conditions imposed by the board, but will challenge the order wherein he was held guilty.
Eight-year-old, Yug, son of doctor Mukesh Chandak, was kidnapped from near his residence in central avenue in Nagpur on September 1, 2014 and was subsequently murdered for ransom by two persons.
The Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court had awarded death penalty to the other two accused in the case -- Rajesh Daware and Arvind Singh.
Daware was employed as a receptionist in the clinic of Chandak.
The juvenile was later booked for helping in the plan.
Meanwhile, Gajendra Daga, lawyer of complainant Dr Mukesh Chandak the victim's father, told PTI that the child in conflict with law who was convicted today should have been sent to a special home for a period of three years.
"We would be challenging today's judgement before the higher forum with a prayer that the delinquent should be sent to special home for a period of three years," said Daga.
The case was heard by the Juvenile Justice Board consisting of Principal Magistrate NN Bedarkar, Surekha Borkute (member) and KT Mele.
