West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee today said the infrastructure of private schools should be looked into by the boards to which they are affiliated.
Chatterjee, referring to the alleged sexual assault of a four-year-old girl student by two male teachers here, said it is not right to blame the entire teaching community for the faults of one or two of them.
Expressing shock that boys and girls were using the same toilet at the G D Birla Centre for Education, where the alleged incident took place, he said the boards were collecting fees but not having a look at the existing infrastructure there.
"It's quite shocking that boys and girls were using the same toilet at this school...We must be extra cautious for girls' schools," the minister said.
