Boat mishap: driver, owner booked

Police have registered a case against two persons in connection with the boat tragedy that occurred mid-sea off Manapadu beach here in which nine persons drowned.

Police said a case has been registered against the boat driver Selvam and owner Kevin under various IPC sections for causing death due to negiligence and are looking for them, police said.

Both of them were absconding along with their family members, they said.

Nine persons drowned while 11 others were rescued when the boat capsized in the Bay of Bengal yesterday.
