Bodies of two children were recovered today from a river in Lakhisarai district of Bihar, a senior police officer said.
The bodies were found in Kiul River beneath a railway bridge between Lakhisarai and Kiul station under Town police station in the district.
Lakhisarai Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sanjay Kumar said the unidentified bodies were of a six-year old girl and a boy of around seven years of age.
The bodies have been sent to government hospital for post-mortem.
Police were trying to ascertain whether the children were killed somewhere else and their bodies dumped in the river, or whether they were run over by some passing train and bodies flung from the bridge.
