Bodies of 7 Amarnath victims from Bihar flown to hometown

The bodies were sent by air on a directive from Jammu and Kashmir Governor and Chairman of the Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) N N Vohra.

"The bodies of seven Amarnath Yatris who lost their lives in the bus accident at Ramban were be sent by air to Patna," Principal, Government Medical College, Jammu, Dr Aniece Chowdhary said.

A bus carrying Amarnath pilgrims had rolled down into a gorge near Ramban on Srinagar-Jammu national highway on Saturday killing 15 pilgrims.

The state government has sanctioned Rs one lakh to the next of kin of each deceased and Rs 10,000 to each of the 18 injured.
