The bodies of an aged couple were recovered from their home at Ghola in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district.
The bodies of 80-year-old Kalipada Das and his 70-year-old wife Geeta were found this morning at their home, whose main door was locked.
Commissioner of police of Barrackpore Police Commissionerate, Niroz Singh said alarm was raised by the domestic help and cook when the door was not opened to them despite their knocking at it for a long time.

Police broke into the house and found the two bodies, he said adding both bore marks of injury and it appeared that they had been strangulated.
Their posessions were also strewn in the room, he said.
The couple's only son had died afew years ago and their daughter-in-law stays elsewhere.
