The bodies of a couple which were found at Budhana town in the district on Wednesday have been identified, police said here today.
The deceased were identified as 26-year-old Ashish from a village in Baghpat district and Moni (23) from Lukser district of Utarakhand, SHO Kamal Singh Yadav said.
According to Ashish's father Rajender the couple were in love and have allegedly commited suicide by consuming poison when they were found alone by the family members, the SHO said.
Fearing police they have disposed of the bodies, Rajender said.
Rajender has been taken into custody for interogation, the SHO said, adding probe is on to find whether it is a suicide case or they were murdered by the family.
The bodies of the couple were found in Bubhana town near Vigayana road in the district on December 9.
