Bodies of two Machhil martyrs brought to native place in UP

Bodies of soldiers Manoj Kushwaha and Shahshank Singh, who died in an ambush by terrorists in Machhil sector of the Jammu and Kashmir two days ago, were brought here this evening.

A large number of locals assembled at the Andhau airstrip where the bodies were brought by an IAF aircraft.

The two martyrs were given a guard of honour and the bodies were kept for the locals to pay their tributes.

Ever since the martyrdom of Manoj Kushwaha of Badhopur village and Shahshank Singh of Naseeruddinpur village, a pall of gloom has descended on the district.

The last rites will be performed at the Ghazipur cremation ground.
 

In a cross-LoC attack by suspected Pakistani terrorists, three Indian soldiers were killed on November 22, with body of one of them being mutilated.

The ambush on army patrol took place in Machhil sector of of Kupwara district in north Kashmir.

Of the three soldiers killed in the attack, two--Shashank Kumar Singh and Manoj Kumar Kushwaha of 57 Rashtriya Rifles-- were from Ghazipur in Uttar Pradesh and one from Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
