Bodies of two minor boys, who were missing since Tuesday, were fished out by police from Mahanadi river here Thursday, a police officer said.
The boys, natives of Bidanasi Krushak Bazaar area here, were missing since Tuesday and police complaints were filed in the local police station.
"The bodies were found floating in the water. After inquest, postmortems have been done," said city DCP Akhileswar Singh.
Prima facie it appears that the boys had entered into the waters for bathing and drowned to death. Police have retrieved their bicycles and clothes from the bank of the river, he said.
According to police, the parents of Debashis Behera (12) and Manas Nayak (8) had on Tuesday evening reported that their sons were missing since morning.
After frantic search for the missing boys throughout the day on Tuesday, the parents late in the evening reported the police about it.
