The deceased were identified as Jaswinder Kaur and Rupinder Singh, both class X students of Rasoolpur village in Jagroan district.
Police said that the boy and the girl, who had been in love with each other, were missing from their houses since the last four days.
They went to the canal at Malke village and jumped into it, they said adding the bodies have been sent for postmortem.
