The body purported to be that of Akansha Sharma recovered from the house of her live-in partner Udayan Das from his Bhopal residence may be sent for DNA testing to confirm whether it is hers, Bankura superintendent Sukhendu Hira said today.

Hira, briefing the press on the murder of the Bankura girl who had moved in with Udayan after being befriended by him on social network, said the post mortem of the body, which was brought here from Bhopal was yet to be received.

He said during interrogation it was found that Akansha had bought train ticket to return to Bankura on December 12 last year, which might have enraged Udayan and led to her killing.

The youth had confessed to the police that he had withdrawn Rs 70,000 from Akansha's bank account through ATM in denominations of Rs 10,000.

It was found that he was in posession of a fake UNICEF appointment letter and a fake US visa.

The youth had visited Singapore for five days from December 24, 2011, to Vietnam for three days from January 22 next year and to Moscow for two days from April 23, 2013.

He is hearing impaired in his right year.

Udayan himself is in eight day's police custody since February 7 on the orders of a local court after he was brought here on remand from Bhopal.

He had allegedly killed Akanksha sometime last year and entombed her body in a platform of his house at Saketnagar in Bhopal to hide the crime. Udayan had confessed to his crime to Bankura police.

Prior to this he had allegedly killed both his parents in their home at Raipur and put them in a grave in the garden. Based on his confessions, police unearthed skeletons from his Raipur home.
