The Bhubaneswar-Cuttack Police Commissionerate today introduced body and dashboard cameras for personnel for better traffic management in the twin cities.

Commissioner of Police, Bhubaneswar-Cutatck Y B Khurania inaugurated the new project and handed over the cameras to the traffic personnel at Traffic Police Station near AG Square here.

Khurania said around 240 body and 16 dashboard cameras have been distributed to the traffic police in the first phase.

"The new system will be beneficial to both the police and the public. The traffic police can record the traffic violation. We can also judge the behaviour of traffic personnel with the public on road," Kharania said.

The body cameras can record both audio and video for over four hours a day. A senior traffic police officer will check the camera on daily basis.
