The body of a 50-year-old man was found lying in an agricultural field in Rajpura village near Naraingarh today, police said.
The deceased was identified as Sanjeev Kumar, a resident of Yamunanagar and a businessman by profession.
Several injury marks were found on his body, they said.
One of the relatives of the deceased told the police that someone known to Kumar took him from his house last evening.
When he did not return home till late in the night, his son Anand informed the police.
Acting on a complaint registered by the victim's son, a case was registered in this regard, the police said.
The body was sent to civil hospital at Naraingarh for postmortem, they added.
