The 24-year-old had flown to Germany on October four last year on a student visa, police said.
Likhit's father Shashidhara told reporters that his son had complained about his friends not letting him to study. "I advised him to come back to India," adding, "I never thought Likhit would take such an extreme step".
Siddalingamma, Likhit's mother, said it was shocking to hear Likhit's death. "He was a brilliant and bright boy," she said.
