Body of boy who died in borewell recovered

Body of a three-year-old boy who died after getting stuck into a 250-ft deep borewell in Gondia district on March 10 has been recovered, authorities said today.

Body of Vivek Donode, who fell into the open hole of the borewell in a field on Wednesday afternoon in Ranka village of Sadak Arjuni tehsil, was recovered last night.

The body was spotted on Saturday, following which the rescue agencies, led by NDRF, prepared a "cloth bucket" and lowered it down to extricate it.

"The authorities yesterday dropped their efforts to create a parallel access to take out the body after the rescuers hit a rocky surface," said Sub Divisional Officer Sunil Suryawanshi (Deori).
 

A post-mortem was conducted at the spot and the body was handed over to the boy's family members.

Police have registered a case under various sections of IPC against the owners of the farm, Ramkrishna Chandewar his brother Deorao Chandewar.
