Body of a 55-year-old farmer was today found on a railway line in the district, police said.

They said that prima facie, it appeared to be a case of suicide though it was also being probed whether he was accidentally run over by a train.

"The body of Harsh Sukhwal was found on Alwar-Mathura rail line and was shifted to a hospital for postmortem," police said.

"The matter is being probed to ascertain whether it was a case of suicide or accidental death. His son said that Sukhwal went to his farm last night and did not return and the body was found in the morning," they said.

Village sarpanch Shivkumar said that farmers in the district had lost hope following losses in crops due to unseasonal rains and police should probe this angle also.
