Body of girl found from canal in Haryana

The body of an unidentified girl, aged about six-seven years, was fished out today from a canal in Titoli village in Haryana's Rohtak district, police said.

The body, which was in a bag, appeared to be about a week old, they added.

The locals spotted the bag floating in the canal. Some parts of the body were visible from the bag and the villagers informed the police immediately.

"The girl's age could be around six to seven years and the body could be about a week old," a Rohtak police official said.

"We have sent teams with the description of the body to the nearby districts for the identification of the girl," he added.

 

A post-mortem report was awaited, the official said.
