Body of Indian exporters part of medical exhibition in Oman

The Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) is participating in the 'Medical, Health and Wellness' international exhibition in Oman.

An 18-member FIEO delegation is visiting the Omani capital Muscat for the event, local reports said.

"Over the last decade, quality of healthcare in Oman has improved dramatically. The health care sector in Oman has the second largest expenditure allocation in Oman's 2012 budget (USD 1.3 billion)," FIEO said in a statement.

"This important market is expected to be worth USD 2 billion by 2015 and there are a number of projects in progress in Oman which offers good business opportunity to Indian companies. The large concentration of NRIs in Oman provides added avenues for Indian health sector for Medical tourism too," the statement said.
 

Others countries taking part are UAE, Jordon, Egypt, Germany, Italy and Turkey, FIEO said.

The event is supported by Oman's Ministry of Health, Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Oman Medical Association, Oman Heart Association, and other important medical institutions.

The companies visiting Oman are dealing in various sectors like pharmaceutical products, hospital care and all types of medical and hospital equipments.
