Body of a 21-year-old married woman was found today at her in-laws' house in Prem Nagar colony of Loni, police said.
The deceased has been identified as Rubina. She had married one Manzoor two months ago after a long courtship, SHO Loni Kotwali Avdhesh Pratap Singh said.
After getting information from her in-laws, police reached the spot and discovered Rubina's body lying on a cot, he said.
Her husband had fled the scene and strangulation marks were visible on her neck, Singh said.
The father of the deceased, Shaukat, has alleged in his police complaint that Rubina's in-laws used to pass remarks and take jibes to pressurise her for more dowry, police said.
The body has been sent for postmortem to establish the cause of her death, they said.
An FIR has been registered under IPC section 304 B (dowry death) and also under relevant sections of Dowry Act, the SHO added.
