The body of a woman has been found in the Jani Khurd area of the district with police saying that one person has been detained in connection with the case.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Asha (24), the wife of one Girish Kumar, a resident of Hapur. Police said that Asha was estranged from her husband over some dispute and was living with her brother, Sarjit Singh, in the Jatpura area.
Police said that a Jatpura resident, Mohar Singh, has been taken into custody in connection with the case. The body has been sent for a post-mortem, they added.
