Body of missing man found in lake in Himachal Pradesh

The body of a 49-year-old man, who went missing on Sunday, was found in a lake in Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district today, police said.

The body of Ravinder Verma alias Lovely was found in Chamera lake, one kilometre from Taleru boating point towards Brangal, they said.

A resident of Dholewal in Punjab's Ludhiana district, Ravinder Verma (49) was working in Taleru in Chamba district from some time, they added.

A missing report was registered at Khairi Police Station on Monday.

A team led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Dalhousie inspected the spot, the police said, adding that prima facie no foul play was found in his death.

 

The body was sent to Dalhousie Civil Hospital for post- mortem, they said, adding that inquest proceedings under Section 174 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had been initiated.
