She had been stabbed and stuffed into the jute sack before being abandoned, the police said.

According to the Mulund Police, the deceased has been identified as Pratiksha Bhojane, a mother of three, who used to work as a housemaid. She used to stay with her children in Bhatwadi, Ghatkopar.

Police said the body was found by some sweepers, who were cleaning the N S Road in Mulund this morning. They opened the sack to see what was inside and were alarmed to see the body.

Officers from the Ghatkopar police station, where a missing person's complaint was registered yesterday, reached the Rajawadi hospital to identify the body that had been taken there for post-mortem.
