Body of PG medical student who committed suicide cremated

The body of the 24-year old post graduate medical student from Tamil Nadu, who allegedly committed suicide in Chandigarh two days back, were cremated near his residence here today.

The body of Dr Krishna Prasath R was brought by flight from Delhi to Madurai and then brought here by car and taken to his house.

His school and college mates, representatives of political parties and members of the public paid their homage.

The cremation was held near his house.

Dr Krishna Prasath, who doing his PG course at the Post -Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in Chandigarh, allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his hostel room.
 

He was a junior resident in the Department of Radio diagnosis and Imaging, at PGIMER, and hailed from Rameswaram in Ramanathapuram district of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami had condoled his death and also announced a solatium of Rs three lakh to his family.
