Body of six-year-old abducted boy found

A six-year-old boy was allegedly killed after being kidnapped by a group of persons in Bhadrak district, police said today.

The deceased boy was identified as Saikh Shanwar Husain, a resident of Nangamahala village under Purana Bazaar police station area in Bhadrak Municipality limit here.

The body was recovered from house of S K Kadar of the same village. Theboywasmissingsince yesterday.

Police said one S K Iddu of Nagamahaia had lodged a complaint about his missing son who was not found since 5 pm last evening, it said.

The police have detained six persons, including Kadar, in this connection.

"My son was playing near the house. When we did not find him till 7 pm, we lodged a complaint with police," the father said.
 

The father said he received a phone call from a person who demanded Rs 6 lakh in order to get his son released.

Meanwhile tension ran high in the area as the local people gheroed the police station demanding immediate arrest of the culprits involved in the kidnapping and murder of the boy.

"The situation is under the control. The police is investigating into the incident," Purana Bazaar police station IIC Harekrushna Das.
