Body of CRPF Assistant Commandant S K Das, who was killed in an encounter with suspected Maoists in Chhatisgarh's Gariaband district was brought to his hometown Howrah in West Bengal today.
The coffin carrying the body of the 35-year old, which was brought in Mumbai-Howrah Gitanjali Express was given a gun salute by 117 number battalion of the paramilitary force upon arrival.
Das' two daughters, aged 6 and 8, were consoled by his parents.

The body was later taken to his Joynarayan Dutta Lane residence in Howrah and later consigned to flames before jawans, family and neighbours.
Das, leading a squad of his men in the forests of Gariaband, 150kms from here, was hit by bullets when the CRPF patrol encountered an armed Naxal squad at around 3 PM at Gariaband yesterday.
Das succumbed to bullet injuries which he had received in his abdomen.
