Body of an unidentified man, suspected to be that of the driver, who was abducted by unidentified miscreants on March 3 has been recovered from Lhangnom village in Manipur's Senapati district, a police officer said today.

The body suspected to be that of driver P A Chinaoshang was recovered by the locals around 4 pm yesterday following which the police was informed, the sources said.

The body was found in a highly decomposed state and could not be identified, the police officer said.

Incidentally, the recovery comes in the wake of tearful appeal by his brother P A Zathin to allow his younger brother be released, through a meeting held at Manipur Press Club yesterday.

However, police said they will continue further verification to see if the body was indeed that of the driver who was abducted last month.
