Body of an 18-year-old girl was recovered from a railway track between Thane and Kalwa stations this morning, Government Railway Police said.
The girl, identified as Priyanka Uttam Muzmule, was a resident of Kalwa and was run over by a train, police said.
Police have registered a case of accidental death and probing whether it was a suicide or a murder.
The body has been sent to the Thane civil hospital for postmortem, they said.
