Body parts of a man allegedly killed in Dec exhumed

A few pieces of bones and a torn shirt was exhumed by police from Panihati in North 24 Parganas following confession by arrested miscreants that they had killed a person and buried him there about two months ago.

Deputy Commissioner, Zone 2, Barrackpore police commissionerate, Dhruba Jyoti Dey said the body is purported to be that of a person named Pintu Saha from neighbouring Khardah who went missing since December 17 last year.

A piece of brick allegedly used to smash the head of the dead man was also found from the spot, he said adding most parts of the body had been devoured by dogs.
 

Three persons who had been taken into custody in connection with snatching a few days ago had led to the arrest of yet another yesterday. On interrogation they confessed to killing Saha in an abandoned place behind a factory compound at Panihati.

Dey said the four men and Saha were involved in peddling drugs and murder was over dispute incolving money.

Saha's wife Shipra claimed that the torn shirt found at the spot belonged to her husband.
