Bodybuilder arrested for dealing in stolen mobiles

Mohammed Faisal, a resident of Turkman Gate, was arrested on a specific information yesterday at about 11:30 PM, after a brief chase by police when he was asked to stop at a check post while he was going to Rakabganj from Delite Cinema hall, a senior police official said.

Police recovered 31 expensive mobile sets of major brands like Nokia, Blackberry, iPhone, Samsung and others. He failed to explain how he was in possession of such a large number of mobile sets.

"During interrogation, he confessed that he had purchased the mobile sets from pick pockets operating in metro. They used to pick pockets in the crowded metros during rush hours. He also admitted that he used to dispose of these mobiles in Karolbagh area as well as in other states," said Devesh Chandra Srivastva, ACP Central district.

 

Faisal, an avid body builder, has no previous criminal record. He has participated in various body building contests and held top positions. Earlier he used to work as a computer hardware professional but in order to earn quick money, he started dealing in stolen mobiles, Srivastva said.
