State-run Bank of India today said its branch network has crossed 5,100 mark, of which 2,000 are opened in rural areas.
Of the total 5,103 branches, the bank has 2,000 rural branches while it has 1,377 branches in semi-urban areas, the bank said in statement here today.
It has 880 branches in metro cities and 846 in urban centres.
"Of the 5,103 offices in the country as on January 30, 2017, we have 423 branches in unbanked area. In the current financial year, we opened 88 domestic branches of which 42 branches are situated in rural areas," Bank of India managing director and CEO Melwyn Rego said.
