Boiler light up at RPower's Sasan UMPP becomes functional

Reliance Power's equipment for the fourth unit of its Sasan ultra mega power project in Madhya Pradesh has started functioning.

The boiler light up has been achieved in respect of the fourth 660 MW unit of the 3,960 MW (6X660 MW) Sasan Ultra Mega Power Plant (UMPP) being developed by Sasan Power Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of the company, Reliance Power said in a BSE filing.

The first 660 MW unit of the Sasan UMPP was commissioned in March 2013 and the second in January 2014 and the third unit became operational last month.

Coal production has already commenced from the 20 million tonnes Moher and Moher-Amlohri coal mines associated with the power project.
 

Reliance Power has 3,205 MW power generation capacity, including 3,120 MW of thermal and 85 MW renewable energy sources.

Shares of Reliance Power were trading at Rs 73.20, up 2.02 per cent on the BSE.
