Searing temperatures were also recorded at Lohardaga, Giridih, Dhanbad and Garhwa, all recording 44 degree C, according to MeT office sources here.
Other districts like Palamau (43.8 degree C), Jamshedpur (43.6), Dumka (43.5), Latehar (42), Hazaribagh (41) and Ranchi (40.4) also sizzled during the day, the sources said.
