Bokaro scorched at 46.7 degree C

This was the second consecutive day for Bokaro to record over 46 degree C, according to MeT office sources.

Searing temperatures were also registered at Dhanbad (45.5 degree C), Garhwa (44.5), Palamau (44.4), Lohardaga (43.6), Dumka (43), West Singhbhum (43.6), Jamshedpur (42.6), Latehar (42.2), (Hazaribagh (42) and Ranchi (40.2), the sources said.

So far the official death figure in the current spell of heat wave in the state stood at six while unofficial reports put the toll at 21.
