Two men, including one who got inspired by Sanjay Dutt-starrer movie 'Vastaav' to enter the world of crime, were arrested in west Delhi for their alleged involvement in a series of robbery and vehicle thefts, police said today.

Vinod, the one who got inspired by the movie, and his associate Ranjeet were apprehended from Mundka yesterday on a tip off, ACP (West) V Renganathan said.

Seven mobile phones, a motorcycle and a country-made pistol along with live cartridges were recovered from them, besides other articles.

The kingpin Vinod, a native of UP, wanted to go to Mumbai to meet an underworld "don" and be "famous" in the world of crime. He said he was inspired by the 1999 Bollywood film 'Vaastav', Renganathan said.

"This gang was active in Delhi and has been committing crime regularly. They used to rob people at gun point and later would distribute the booty among themselves in equal share," he said, adding that with their arrest more than a dozen incidents of robberies and snatching in the city have been solved.

Police said on April 4, the gang had committed a robbery near Punjabi Bagh Ganda Nala area.
