Bomb defused near busy market in NW Pakistan

A bomb planted near a busy market was defused in the restive Bajaur tribal region of northwest Pakistan today, officials said.

Personnel of the Levies militia foiled the bid to target Inayat Killi Bazar, located eight kilometres from Khar, the main town of Bajaur Agency.

Officials of the local administration said the bomb was planted by unidentified persons on the roof of a shop.

Personnel of a bomb disposal unit safely defused the explosive device.
