A powerful bomb was detected this
morning in a public tank located near the office of the Krishi Vigyan Kendra of Manipur's Bishnupur district, a senior police officer said.
The bomb was found inside the public tank by the villagers this morning, the officer said adding that it was not known who kept the bomb there and for what purpose.
Such powerful explosives can be fitted with rocket launchers also, the officer said adding
The bomb squad of Manipur police picked up the bomb from the spot and defused it at the paddy field at Bamdiyar in Nambol area, the police officer added.
