A Libyan security official says a car bomb went off outside the Egyptian embassy in the capital, Tripoli, causing some damage to the building.
No one was hurt in the explosion on Thursday morning. The official says that shortly after the blast, another car bomb was discovered near the embassy of the United Arab Emirates. It's unclear why that car bomb did not explode.
Both embassies, along with most diplomatic missions, foreign and international organizations have been closed for months as Islamist-allied militias seized Tripoli after weeks of fierce fighting.
