An anonymous call to a private
school in the city today threatening that a bomb would go off, turned out to be hoax when the premises was thoroughly checked by police.
Police said the school at Madurai Kamaraj Salai reopened after quarterly holidays, when the call was received by the South Gate Police Station.
Bomb squad rushed to the spot and conducted a thorough search of the school building but did not find any explosives, police said.
