Bomb threat proves hoax

Municipal Town here were today closed following an anonymous letter threatening that bombs had been planted in five institutions which was later proved to be hoax, police said.

Police said the letter was received by the Municipality Chairperson Ratiya Dhul Katharia,in the form of a folded white paper early this morning.

Her husband, who opened it, saw the message "bombs have been planted in five schools..They will explode at 11:18,If you can save the children," police said.

Police directed all schools to be closed and conducted a thorough check of the premises of the schools but no explosives were found, police said.
